Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect the information you share with Demand Signatures.

Demand Signatures ("we," "us," or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Demand Signatures platform and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you upgrade to a paid plan, your payment card and billing address are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we store only your subscription status, plan and billing contact email.

Documents and Signatures: We store the documents you upload for signing and the electronic signatures applied to those documents. This may include names, email addresses, and IP addresses of signers.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and the dates and times of your visits.

Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Service, including hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process and complete document signing transactions
  • Create and manage your account
  • Send you transactional emails (e.g., signing requests, completion notifications)
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With Other Signers: When you send or sign a document, your name and email address are shared with other parties to the transaction.
  • Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Signed documents and audit trails are retained in accordance with applicable legal requirements and our record-keeping obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

5. Data Security

Connections to Demand Signatures use TLS encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and browser storage to run the Service. With your permission, we set Google Analytics and advertising cookies through Google Tag Manager to understand site use and measure ad results. These analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you click Accept on our cookie notice, and we do not use them for personalized advertising or remarketing. You can change your browser cookie choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link in the footer or through your browser settings.

When you arrive from an ad or campaign link, we keep the campaign details (such as the source, campaign name and ad click identifier) in your browser for up to 30 days and save them with your account if you sign up. This campaign storage and the server-side event reporting described below operate independently of your cookie choice, including when you decline cookies. When an account verifies its email, sends its first document, starts a trial or makes a payment, we may send Google a record of that event with a pseudonymous identifier and, for payments, the amount and invoice reference. These records never include your name, email address or document content. Our browser campaign capture is disabled while your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends either signal when you sign up, we mark your account to exclude these server-side conversion records from Google.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Object to or restrict the processing of your data
  • Request portability of your data
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
